Riley Godleski - Tumble Child
“A boon for fans of classic pop-rock music, Riley Godleski’s Tumble Child marries intricate musicality with visceral pop motives, grounded by a free-wheeling experimental philosophy that leaves a deep impression.”
Tumble Child is the first release from Riley Godleski, a Western Massachusetts songwriter and drummer/rhythm guitarist. It dropped on May 24th, 2016 and since has been available on Band Camp and iTunes as well as other streaming services. It has been acclaimed by reviewers and listeners alike, blending many musical worlds into a pop tapestry that is easy to fall into yet hard to leave once inside. "Block Tower" features a wonderful cello track from Kimaya Diggs and an eerie keyboard track from Peter Kearns in New Zealand. It's pallet is wide and ranges from the upbeat head-waving Rock n' Roll of "All That I Have (I Give You)" to the more intense drive of "Flash In the Pan Devotion", into uncharted psychedelic realms of "How The People Dance" or "Shattered View" and back around to a slow 6/8 ballad ("Like Home"). It also has deep grooves on the title track "Tumble Child". Tumble Child was recorded at The Storm Cellar in Shelburne Falls, MA (a temporary split-off of Zing Studios in Westfield, MA) during the year of 2015 and engineered by Jeff Lynch. It was mastered at Zing Studios by Jim Fogarty.

“Tumble Child is about being reborn, bringing the child-self forth into the present, awakening and remembering why we are truly here in the storm of human experience. It's an adventure seeking to find modern bittersweet beauty in the corners of our understanding.”
